1. How long have you been a professional wedding photographer?

This is a very important question to ask your potential wedding photographer. Experience does not always matter but it can be a very important thing. I know many photographers within their first year who kill it at weddings. Their experience level can mean a lot of things like how they run a wedding day, what all you receive in a package, what equipment they have, and so much more.

I have almost 8 years of experience as a wedding photographer. I have photographed a lot of weddings and learned new things from each wedding I photograph. I do think the experience level is so important not just the number of years they have been in business but also the number of weddings they have photographed.

• How would you describe your posing style?

This is such an important thing to ask because it sets the tone of all

your images. Yes, the edits are important, and you need to love their editing style, but you also need to love their posing style. Some photographers are strictly posed kind of posing and others are a more fun posing style that shows your emotions on your day.

            I take a more “unposed” approach to posing my clients on their wedding day. Yes, I love the beautiful, posed images and I do pose my clients some, but I really like to capture more of the emotions on the day. So, make sure you ask your photograph this to know exactly what you are getting.

• How are you on a wedding day?

This may be the most important thing that I think you should ask your potential wedding photographer! How your photographer acts and handles a wedding day could truly make or break it. On my wedding day I personally want someone that I am completely comfortable with who does not stress out easily. I want someone who creates an amazing experience for me. What I want in a wedding photographer may not be for everyone and that is okay! You need to pick someone who would handle a wedding day exactly how you would like.
